Privacy Policy

Overview
PixieRoute is a free Disney trip planning tool for Disney World and Disneyland. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
- Trip data you provide: Park selections, party details (names, ages, heights), travel preferences, and itinerary choices. This data is stored in your browser's local storage and is only sent to our servers when you generate a shareable trip link.
- Shared trips: When you create a shareable link, your trip itinerary is stored in our database with a random code. No personal identifying information is required. Shared trips are automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Email address (optional): If you choose to receive expiration reminders, your email is stored alongside your trip record. It is used solely to send a welcome confirmation and a reminder before your trip data expires. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send, which permanently removes your email from our system.
- Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, tools used) to improve the service. No personally identifiable information is collected.
What We Don't Collect
- No account registration or login required
- No email addresses required (optional for expiration reminders)
- No payment information
- No precise GPS location (map GPS is used locally in your browser only)
- No tracking cookies for advertising
Third-Party Services
PixieRoute uses the following third-party services to provide functionality:
- Duffel: For flight price searches. Your search criteria (origin, dates, passengers) are sent to their API.
- Google Maps: For driving directions and distance calculations.
- OpenStreetMap / Leaflet: For interactive park maps. Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers.
- Resend: For sending transactional emails (welcome confirmation and expiration reminders). Your email address is transmitted to Resend when you opt in to reminders.
- FuelEconomy.gov / EIA: For vehicle MPG data and fuel price lookups. Your zip code and vehicle selection may be sent to these U.S. government APIs.
- Vercel: Our hosting provider. Standard web server logs may be collected.
Local Storage
Your trip planning data (park selections, party details, preferences) is stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly create a shareable link. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
Data Retention
Shared trip links expire 90 days after your last access. Each time you view your trip, the timer resets to 90 days. If you provide an email address, we'll send you one reminder 14 days before expiration — no marketing, no sharing, just a heads-up. Local storage data remains on your device until you clear it. We do not retain any data beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
Children's Privacy
PixieRoute is a family trip planning tool. While you may enter children's names, ages, and heights for ride eligibility checking, this data is stored locally in your browser. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
